Trainees and/or Early Career Opportunities
Young Investigator Award (YIA) The YIA funds physicians transitioning from fellowship to faculty. Open to U.S. and international applicants.
Applications Due: September 10 by 11:59 PM (ET).
YIA Special Competitions Specialized funding is available for early-career investigators in: Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, Drug Development, Early Detection, Geriatric Oncology, Mantel Cell Lymphoma, Pediatric Brain Tumors, Supportive Care, and Veteran Cancer.

Global Oncology Young Investigator Award (GO YIA) The GO YIA funds early-career investigators driving quality research that addresses global health needs. Open to U.S. and international applicants.
Letter of Intent Due: September 10 by 11:59 PM (ET).
Career Development Award (CDA) The CDA supports clinical investigators establishing independent cancer research programs after their initial faculty appointment. This award focuses on patient-oriented research, including clinical studies and translational research involving human subjects. Open to U.S. and international applicants.
Applications Due: October 8 by 11:59 PM (ET).
Career Development Award Special Competitions Dedicated career development in ovarian cancer.

Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs)
International Innovation Grant (IIG)The IIG funds novel, innovative projects to advance cancer control in LMICs.
Letters of Intent Due: August 27 by 11:59 PM (ET).
International Development and Education Award (IDEA)The IDEA and IDEA Palliative Care (IDEA-PC) support early-career oncologists in LMICs and fosters knowledge sharing with ASCO members.

Long-term International Fellowship (LIFe)The LIFe provides early-career oncologists in LMICs with resources and support for advanced training, with the ultimate goal to improve cancer care in their home countries.

Research Professorship in Ovarian CancerThe Research Professorship supports established scientists as they provide mentorship to the next generation of researchers.

2027 ASCO Special Awards NominationsASCO is accepting nominations for the 2027 Special Awards honoring outstanding colleagues who have transformed oncology. ASCO members can earn up to two FASCO points a year for submitting nominations.
There are two new honors this year:
The Community Legacy Award: Honoring community oncologists who have made significant contributions to cancer care in their communities through research, education, leadership/advocacy, promotion of high-quality care, and/or expanding access to care.
The Cancer Care Impact Award: Recognizing ASCO members who have demonstrated dedication to expanding access to cancer care delivery through clinical practice, advocacy, applied research, volunteering, or mentorship. This honor celebrates those whose efforts create sustainable, measurable improvements in how cancer care reaches those who need it most.
