The Center for Bioethics and Research (CBR) warmly congratulates Professor Ebunoluwa Olufemi Oduwole on her historic appointment as the first female Vice Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo. This appointment is a remarkable acknowledgment of her outstanding academic contributions, administrative leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence in higher education.
Professor Oduwole is a distinguished Professor of Philosophy at Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, where she has served the university community with distinction for decades. In April 2024, she delivered the university’s 79th Inaugural Lecture, titled “Navigating the Labyrinth of Values: Philosophy, Education and Leadership.” The lecture explored the crucial intersection of ethical values, education, and effective leadership, reflecting her depth as a scholar and her long-standing engagement with issues of national development and moral responsibility in governance.
Beyond the lecture podium, Professor Oduwole has held key administrative roles at OOU, including acting as the Head of Department and serving in various strategic university committees. Her academic journey and leadership capacity have now earned her this trailblazing role at Ajayi Crowther University, positioning her as a role model for aspiring female academics and university leaders across Nigeria.
We at the Center for Bioethics and Research celebrate this well-earned recognition and commend Professor Oduwole for her inspiring achievements. We look forward to the transformative leadership she will bring to Ajayi Crowther University. Congratulations, Professor!
