How to complete the CITI-IRB training program
The program can be found by clicking on "clicking here to go to CITI program". Under the option, "all others", click the radio button and you will see that the institutions are listed in alphabetical order. Identify the West African Bioethics Training Program and choose it. Then click submit.
This will take you to the interface below where you should create a username (Your username should consist of 4 to 50 characters – a simple one to choose is your surname in small case. Rarely someone else with this name may have been registered and you need to choose another name. Always choose something that you can remember because you may need log off and log on again) and password (Your password should consist of 8 to 12 characters – again choose something that is easy to remember) for yourself. You should then choose a reminder phrase that will remind you of the password you picked. Then click submit.
This will take you to a new interface that will ask for details about you which you should fill in and then click submit again.
Please pay attention to how you enter your name as this is how it will appear on your certificate. (If you do not have an e-mail address, take the opportunity to obtain a free e-mail address from Yahoo, Hotmail or Google (GMail) – if you are doing this course, you are probably online, therefore all you need to do is take a few moments to obtain a new e-mail address. Go to Yahoo or MSN or Google websites and follow the instructions there). An e-mail address is necessary for you to be able to receive your certificate of completion. If you do not have an office phone, you can use your cell phone. At the last point, you will be taken to the course.
Once you start doing the course, you can log off at any time by clicking the logoff button on the top right hand corner of the page. You can then resume your course by going to this site "Resume CITI program course" where you will see this
You can then put in the original user name and password that you created earlier and resume the course where you left off.
